BOOMING ECONOMY
Peru has experienced significant economic growth over the last decade, establishing itself as the fastest-growing economy in Latin America. Its abundant natural resources are a fundamental part of this success, boasting the world’s largest silver reserves and the largest reserves of gold, lead, and zinc in Latin America.
On the Peruvian coast, maritime resources and the export-oriented agro-industrial sector stand out, with star products like asparagus, blueberries, table grapes, avocados, organic bananas, and paprika. The Peruvian Amazon is home to rich deposits of oil and natural gas, as well as vast forest resources.
The Peruvian government has implemented measures to reduce bureaucratic barriers to investment, promote the formalization of small businesses, and encourage investment in infrastructure.
Currently, Peru has trade agreements with major world economies, such as the United States, China, and the European Union. Additionally, it is part of trade blocks like the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and the Pacific Alliance.
